Snowy Bareback Ride

Shiloh has been an absolute gem lately! I even had my sister hop on him and do some dressage tricks (asking him to collect by lightly applying the legs and sponging the reins, turns on the forehand), which he performed beautifully. I think he’s really starting to get the hang of this “bend and engage your hindquarters” stuff.

We had our first snowy bareback ride! My face froze off, but otherwise it was great. We kept each other warm and hacked around the pasture as long as I could stand.

I used my new silk glove liners under my regular gloves and they stayed toasty warm. I definitely recommend them for anybody that’s sick of not being able to move their fingers in the frigid temperatures.

There is no bad weather! Only inappropriate clothing and equipment.

Happy riding!

Oh, oh, oh!! Excited about the silk glove liners…I was just complaining on my blog about taking pictures when it’s cold out, and needing something warm, but supple enough to handle the camera. Thanks for the link…I’m going to have to give them a try! 🙂

Do it! They are absolutely the best winter riding accesory you can buy. Way better than those silly humongo fleece riding gloves advertised everywhere.
